Modified Moving Averages (MMA) are sometimes used to make buy and sell decisions based on whether the instrument's current price is higher or lower than the MMA.
MMA is similar to Moving Average (MA) and the first point is calculated the same way. However, all subsequent points are calculated by first adding the new price and then subtracting the last average from the resulting sum. The difference is the new point, or modified moving average.
n is the time period/bars (user specified input in the properties dialogue box).
Note: Closing price is the default, but the system allows you to use other prices, such as open price, high price, low price etc.
